We are a mobile yoga kids company located in the Chicagoland area, dedicated to purposefully crafting transformative experiences for children, teens, parents, caregivers, teachers, and any participant interested in exploring the realms of yoga, body movement, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning (SEL).

WHAT WE DO
Body Movement and Mind Connection
Through yoga, we provide children, teens, and participants with a physical outlet, fostering the dynamic relationship between body movement and mind connection. This creates a space for early-age self-reflection and emotional release.
Social Emotional Learning
Through a variety of activities in our classes, we cultivate self-awareness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills, nurturing a strong foundation for lifelong well-being.
Mindfulness Practices
Cultivating self-awareness through physical and emotional regulation, we nurture mindfulness, providing children, teens, and participants with tools to recognize feelings, label emotions, without judgment and become attuned to bodily sensations in the present moment.
Yoga in Spanish
One of our primary intentions is to cultivate a community and create avenues for the Spanish-speaking community to access the transformative practices and tools of yoga and body movement. Additionally, we provide yoga classes in Spanish for children who wish to learn the language. Creating safe and inclusive spaces is a heartfelt goal, where everyone can thrive with equality.

MEET
ANDREA
Andrea is a full time certified yoga instructor. Originally from Costa Rica, she relocated to Chicago in 2016 and devoted herself to working with children and families.
In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, Andrea embarked on a virtual journey, teaching kids’ yoga classes online. This inspired her to create The Journey Lab, LLC, where children can have a safe and imaginative space to explore nature, animals, minds, emotions, and bodies together.
Andrea has obtained numerous certifications, including a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training & Social Emotional Learning from Breathe for Change, 200-hour Children’s Certificate from Artesanos de Emociones in Costa Rica, with continuing education courses focused in art-therapy and yoga for children with special needs, 95-hour Children’s Yoga Certificate from Rainbow Kids Yoga, and a 50-hour Children’s Yoga Certificate from Om Shreem Om & Yoga Mandir in Costa Rica.
Andrea firmly believes that the fusion of yoga, movement, and social-emotional learning is a valuable tool for nurturing children’s physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. She holds the belief that each child should receive recognition and nurturing, creating a safe and inclusive environment for them to authentically express themselves.
DANI
Originally from Michigan, Dani moved to Chicago in 2012 after graduating from Ferris State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a major in Public Relations. Working with children has always been a passion of hers, and she has spent over 10 years helping Chicago families as a private childcare provider.
Starting as a business advisor to The Journey Lab, LLC. in early 2022, Dani then earned her Children’s Yoga Instructor Certificate through YogaRenew, an associated partner of Yoga Alliance.
Dani believes that The Journey Lab Kids Yoga is a beautiful and creative way for children to connect with their emotions, minds, and bodies, all while having fun and using their imaginations.
